Interesting Facts About Gloucester County, New Jersey
Both Swedesboro and Bridgeport have a history that dates back to the 17th century, which was the time when the New Sweden colony was among the first European settlements in the state of New Jersey. Bridgeport was named after the New Sweden colony. The 26th of May, 1686 is the first date that is documented in Gloucester’s history. Around this time, a separate and independent judicial system from Burlington’s came into existence. In the year 1694, the territory was officially recognized as being a part of West Jersey, and its boundaries were mapped out at that time. A portion of Gloucester County was severed in 1837 to form the new county of Atlantic, and then again in 1844 to create the new county of Camden. The city of Gloucester, which is located in the county of Gloucestershire in England, inspired the naming of the county.
Since its incorporation in 1683, Woodbury holds the title of being the most established town in the county. In addition to taking place in Red Bank, the Revolutionary War battle of Fort Mercer was also fought in National Park, which is now the county seat. The remains of the HMS Augusta were first laid to rest in the area that is now known as Red Bank Battlefield Park. Later, they were moved to Gloucester City and reburied there before being transported to Philadelphia. In the early days of the colonial economy in Gloucester County, agriculture served as the primary industry. The county served as a key hub for the transportation of contraband commodities heading for the Delaware River, the Atlantic Ocean, and other destinations further afield.

Frequently Asked Questions Answered
You need to talk to a skilled criminal defense lawyer right away. Even before you are arrested, a criminal defense attorney can start looking into your case right away. In order to minimize the risks or embarrassment of an arrest, which can take place at your home, your place of employment, or anywhere in public, your attorney can also make contact with the police on your behalf and arrange your surrender. Your attorney can also assist you in understanding the repercussions of an arrest and preparing you for the subsequent process.
Before they can search your house, office, car, or you personally, the police typically need a warrant. However, in other situations, the police may be allowed to search without a warrant. For example, they may be authorized to search you while you’re being detained or search your car if they have reason to believe it’s filled with contraband after a police dog detects the smell of drugs. Finally, if the police are legally present and discover illegal items like firearms or drugs, they may be authorized to seize that property. Before allowing a search of your home or when the police want to search your home using a warrant, you should speak with a criminal defense lawyer.
