Moorestown Incident Leads to Man Being Arrested for Heroin Possession and Shoplifting

Being accused of any crime is a serious situation and one that calls for the insight of a lawyer as soon as possible. The weekly activity report recently shared by Moorestown police indicates that a man was arrested for heroin possession and shoplifting on March 5.

According to the police report, a man was remanded to Burlington County jail on a warrant after taking more than $600 worth of apparel from Boscov’s Department Store.

Defendant Facing Serious Drug and Shoplifting Charges

That same 26-year-old defendant was charged with shoplifting in addition to a number of different drug charges. He was accused of possession of marijuana, possession of Oxycodone pills, possession of heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Outcomes of Convictions for Drug Crimes

All of these crimes can carry significant consequences but being accused of multiple crimes at the same time can drastically increase the stakes for a person who is facing criminal charges. When there are multiple charges assessed in a case, prosecutors may use this information to increase their chances of receiving a conviction on at least one of those allegations.

Anyone who is facing similar allegations should realize the higher stakes tied to multiple crimes at the same time. The outcome of such a case will forever influence the life of a person who has been convicted.

Hire a Defense Lawyer You Can Trust

Sitting down with a criminal defense attorney as soon as possible after you have been accused of a crime is the best way to figure out the charges levied against you and how to appropriately defend against these. A different defense strategy may be required for each of these charges and the selection of a criminal defense attorney is extremely important for your future.  Call Michele Finizio when you need help with a criminal case. Contact our firm today.
